Initial Launch
First playable version. Just you and two pistols that automatically reload and never run out of ammunition against an unending horde Squares that aren't too happy to find an Edgeless in their territory.
The name actually comes from the idea that when a player dies, they resurrect as a Square (ai-controlled) with all their gear and attributes as they were when they were alive. That feature will likely come much later in development though as animation is not yet something I have explored much.
In BTOBS, you'll face off against Gunners, Blockers, Snipers, Bombers, and Kamikazes that continuously come from all sides and increase in number the longer you survive. Sometimes you'll find some health, or a brief shield or boost to your guns after taking down an enemy.
Small tip: The Kamikazes are a lot easier to take down if you shoot the explosives they're carrying. You might get lucky and catch some other enemies in the blast too! Explosives actually took quite a bit more time to properly work out than I was expecting, but it's now likely to be the cause of your death if you aren't staying aware of your surroundings!
Behind the scenes, this was early in my Unity learning career. A lot of the classes ended up being hard-coded and are very rigid. But what little it has works quite well. The plan going forward is to break those down and make them more easy to modify throughout the game to create a roguelike/lite experience with lots of randomization to keep it more interesting.
